DFS has been making high quality, comfortable and stylish sofas for almost half a century - many of those designed and crafted at their very own workshops in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire. Those decades of experience and continued investment inBritish craftsmanship mean that today they bring their customers the biggest range of quality sofa sets anywhere in the country.They are one of the largest manufacturers of upholstered furniture in the UK. Their three finished goods and two sub-component factories each benefit from a highly skilled workforce who collectively produce around 20% of all the furniture they sell.DFS are now recruiting for a Head of Manufacturing Operations to lead their largest site in Somercotes, Derbyshire. Sitting on the senior leadership team, this is an integral role in the business and a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving, multi-site manufacturingteam. The Head of Manufacturing Operations duties and responsibilities include:*Operating at a senior level and aligned with SMT, reporting into the Manufacturing Director you will have full responsibility for manufacturing at its Derbyshire site; working collaboratively with Head of Quality and Head of Engineering to maximise overallplant performance*Driving forward business objectives; from orders through to manufacturing of finished goods and customer fulfilment*People Management: identifying opportunities to develop team members and high performing teams whilst managing all aspects of recruitment; retention and attendance*Delivering across all areas of standards incl. Safety; Quality; Cost; P&L /Budget Management; Efficiency; Continuous Improvement and Values of the business; its employees and teams*Proven experience in high volume manufacturing; implementing lean techniques to run an efficient operation, which will contribute to the productivity and overall output of the business*Ability to forge strong relationships with customers; suppliers and internal areas of the business to ensure products are delivered and customer satisfaction is continuously metElevation Recruitment Group are keen to speak with individuals that possess the following skills:*You will be an experienced Manufacturing leader who enjoys autonomy with proven skills in leading high performing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment*You have experience in bespoke or complex manufacturing processes*You will have a minimum of 10 years experience in a high-volume manufacturing capacity*Degree qualified in either operations, engineering or management*Six Sigma Black Belt and or Lean Kaizen Qualified*Proven experience delivering against KPIs with appreciation for what excellent looks like*Extensive experience in change management and employee engagement*You will be analytically strong with a tactile approach and the ability to successfully work as part of a wider teamThis is fantastic opportunity to join a market leading brand with an ever-growing manufacturing function.
