We are currently recruiting for a Tax Compliance Accountant for an initial 9 month contract based in our clients Solihull office.The role sits within the UK Tax Team of 9 staff, all of whom hold one or multiple professional qualifications, with extensive experience gained both in the profession and industry. The UK Tax Team operates from Solihull and Aberdeen. The current Solihull tax team is a skilled in-house tax specialist team whose main responsibility is managing direct tax compliance obligations across all of our clients UK business. The team handles the preparation of all UK corporation tax and petroleum revenue tax (PRT) filings in compliance with applicable laws and agreement thereof with HM Revenue & Customs, ensuring timely and accurate filing. This role involves direct tax responsibilities for a portfolio of UK entities and assets, reporting to experienced Solihull-based qualified Senior Tax Accountants, who directly report to the UK Tax Manager.Responsibilities: Preparation of corporation tax and PRT returns for a range of companies and oil fields using specialist tax software. Handling associated communications both internally, and also externally with other oil company coventurers in PRT fields. Assist with responding to tax technical questions and requests from HM Revenue and Customs. Researching relevant technical tax issues and new legislative requirements, and communicating impact effectively. Supporting Senior Tax Accountants in complex areas including transfer pricing, and new reporting obligations. Maintaining up to date technical knowledge in a rapidly evolving area of tax.Required Qualifications: Experience working in a high-quality finance environment, preferably with experience of direct tax. Qualified to AAT, ATT, CIMA, ACA, ACCA or CTA standard. Strong analytical skills, with consistent attention to precision and detail. Strong IT skills (Especially Excel and Accounting software) Sound communicator, both written and oral. Ability to work to deadlines. Legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions.Preferred Skills: Educated to degree standard. Practical experience using SAP. Experience of Thomson Reuters OneSource (not essential). Oil & gas taxation experience not essential.
