Hours: 37.0 Hours per Week This is a hugely exciting time to join Solihull Council and have the opportunity to strategically lead our growing Highway Infrastructure Service. As the Strategic Lead for Highway Infrastructure, you will be responsible for the Strategic Highway Contract, and leading the Asset Management, Flood Risk, Drainage, Tanker and Street Lighting Teams, working closely with the Head of Highway Infrastructureto ensure the successful development and delivery of a wide variety of maintenance programmes, schemes and infrastructure projects…. And there is plenty going on!Over the next decade the new HS2 railway opens in 2030, the new Local Development Plan for the Borough and Solihull Town Centre Re-development Master Plan will be implemented. Economic growth is expected in several other high-profile areas including at BirminghamAirport, the National Exhibition Centre and at the Arden Cross development site. With this growth in both the residential and commercial sectors will come increased demand to use the highway network.To be successful in this role you will be an experienced manager who is commercially astute and politically aware. You will have a proven track record of successfully developing and delivering relevant highways schemes and projects.
