Job Description

Join Our Team as a SEN Teaching Assistant for EYFS!Are you passionate about supporting young learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their early years We are looking for a bank of dedicated supply SEN Teaching Assistants to join a wonderful team at a Special School catering to Severe LearningDifficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in Solihull.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEN in EYFS, including those with SLD and PMLD.
  • Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility support as required by individual students.
  • Support the implementation of personalised learning plans and sensory activities to promote engagement and progress.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, creating a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff members to create inclusive and stimulating learning experiences.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a special educational setting, preferably with experience in EYFS and SEN.
  • Understanding of the needs of children with SLD and PMLD, including knowledge of relevant strategies and interventions.
  • Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of children with SEN.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in supporting children with SEN (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools).
