Job Description

Our client is a leading Midlands Based Property Refurbishment Company that are looking to recruit a new member to join and strengthen their Contract Management Team.Having been established for over 30 years, they have an excellent reputation as a medium sized Construction Company delivering high quality diverse commercial and educational fit-out projects.This position will be based on site mainly in the Midlands, but the position requires the ability to travel and be flexible to occasionally work in other parts of England as we have National coverage.You will find yourself working with an established Contract Management team in a middle-tier Management position delivering for numerous clients including Blue Chip Commercial, Higher Educational, some Retail and Healthcare.Projects range between -£5K to £10 Million.About the role:

  • Site visits and surveys at tender stage with the Estimator to have an input on how they would run the project, so the QS is aware of prelims, labour times, etc
  • Ordering plant / materials from the specification daily via the procurement team
  • Planning of project related trades, labour and materials and development of procurement schedules running in line with the project programme
  • Attending and preparing reports for pre-start meetings, progress meetings and will be involved in Value Engineering meetings with the Quantity Surveyors and Client
  • Generating construction programmes in MSP for clients and sub-contractors to adhere to meet programme
  • Organise sub-contract co-ordination meetings to ensure everyone is aware of their roles and responsibilities throughout the project
  • Prepare and submit progress reports for clients and chair progress meetings based on clients requirements
  • Take meeting minutes and issue to clients and sub-contractors when required
  • Hold weekly Toolbox Talks when Site Supervisor is not available
  • Issue site inductions when Site Supervisor is not available
  • Liaise with the Client and building users daily
  • Liaise with Contracts Directors regarding labour, site issues and sub-contractors performance
  • Monitoring quality and standards of workmanship including carrying out own snagging prior to handover
  • Use of site-audit pro and Procore Technology to issue reports and snagging (training will be provided)
  • Recording variations and reports back to QS for the project daily
  • Reporting back to QS / Commercial Team regarding progress for valuations
  • Ensure health and safety rules and regulations are strictly adhered to by all on site
  • Liaising with Building inspectors regarding Building Regulations and any other formal approvals
  • Providing key Project information regarding Operating and Maintenance Manuals, Building Manuals and Health and Safety Files for PC and handover
  • Responsible for ensuring drawings and on-site information up to date to the latest revisions
  • Recording and preparing Lessons Learnt reports and chairing the meeting post contract
  • Hold correct certification to carry out their roles correctly i.e. as a minimum SMSTS, PASMA,
Asbestos Awareness, First Aid Trained, CSCS.About the candidate:
  • An individual with a good understanding of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook etc)
  • An understanding of professional etiquette and client facing
  • Accuracy in their work and organisational understanding
  • Good ability to manage our supply chain to programme
  • Someone who is motivated and can coordinate with an established team
  • Keen time management
  • Able to multi-task and understand their own work loads
  • Hold a full UK driving Licence and own a vehicle to travel
  • Willing to further develop their skills and training including Procore
  • Sociable and able to work in an office and on site under CDM Regulations
  • Health and Safety aware and competent in its application
Skills & Experience
  • Qualified in a construction related subject or holds key site management qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic, reliable, and ambitious
  • Client facing experience, professional, good manager and affable to both peers and supply chain personnel alike
