Job Description

Lynx always strive to provide a high standard of stafftherefore successful candidates must be able to show pride and commitment to their work.We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking for an experienced Programme Manager to join their team at the Childrens Service in Solihull. An Enhanced DBS for Adults and Children on the Update System is required for this role.Role Purpose

  • To support corporate quality and improvement programmes and inspection preparation and ensure best practice is followed in the management of projects and programmes. The post will initially support the SEND agenda, working collaboratively across education,care and health services but may be required to support other directorate or corporate quality improvement programmes.
  • To support the senior managers in developing and maintaining consistent programme, project and document content standards in key service areas, particularly focusing on achieving well-articulated and evidence-based deliverables and impact. Additionally,responsibility for planning, tracking, reporting and overseeing delivery of projects for Assistant Directors, Heads of Service and other senior staff.
  • To support inspection and system wide improvement processes, ensuring robust processes are followed and that regular updates are provided internally to very senior managers, key local boards and partnership, enabling effective governance oversight and decision-making.
  • To effectively manage programme office resources as required, including Project Managers and Project Support Officers.
  • The role involves supporting the delivery of whole system improvement working closely with a range of statutory partners i.e. schools, parent carers, health services, social care teams.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies and policies around major programmes of change and ensure that wider policy and strategy development aligns with the Corporate Approach to Programme Management working closely with colleagues from ICT, OrganisationDevelopment, Business Improvement and other disciplines.
Place of Work
  • The post holder would be expected to work in accordance with smarter ways of working principles. Subject to business requirements, it is anticipated that they would spend a one or two days a week based in Council offices with the rest working from homeor alternative locations.
