Seven Resourcing is working with Solihull Council to recruit a solicitor for theirLegal & Democratic Services.Initial 3 month contract100% remote workingLooking for someone 3 days per week£35 per hour PAYETo conduct all aspects of legal work relating to land and property, development and landlord and tenant issues.As and when required to attend Council, Cabinet, Committees or meetings and to handle legal and advisory work connected with this.To advise client departments on land and property, highways and commercial contract and procurement matters.Recording time worked to charge out to clients.To maintain a caseload in compliance with Lexcel requirements.Instructing Counsel to act or appear on behalf of the Council in circumstances where the best interests of the Council so requires.Providing support to the Team Leader - Property and Contracts.Any other appropriate duties as and when requiredEducation:Qualified Legal Executive or Solicitor.Current practising certificate.Experience:Detailed knowledge and working experience of commercial property law.Experience of drafting complex legal documentation.Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook (or equivalent)Relevant Local Authority experience and knowledge and understanding of current developments affecting local governmentGeneral knowledge of contract and procurement law;Undertaking legal researchAn understanding of the requirements of LexcelUse of Iken or other case management systemsWorking with Seven Social Care: We have been helping social care professionals find exciting new roles for almost a decade, so we know exactly where to look when it comes to sourcing the best opportunities.
