Job Description

Network Architect - Hybrid (Solihull / Basingstoke)Security Cleared**A national security clearance is required for this role but candidates not holding this level of clearance will be considered**We are urgently seeking a Network Architect with strong technical knowledge of networks, network security and their configuration, particularly with Juniper technologiesThis for our client who are a Global IT Service Provider. This will be on a long term contract and mainly home based, with occasional travel to the client (such as Solihull & Basingstoke) and customer sites as needed by projects.Brief Overview of role / project:Our purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. As a NSSR Network Architect, you will contribute to this by working collaboratively in the project team, and designing and delivering medium to large networksolutions to enable services for our customer that are cost-effective.We are looking for a Network Architect to work on delivery opportunities taking place within the secure Defence and National Security sector. Your role will involve providing technical leadership within a project, understanding the business and technicalrequirements and you will be responsible for the producing the technical impact solution, the relevant design collateral, including passing any governance reviews, and ensure effective technical delivery.Mandatory Skills (Candidate must have all):

  • Demonstrable experience of understanding the customers business and technical requirements and issues and producing solid network solutions.
  • Demonstrable design experience in proposing and utilizing technologies from global network vendors such as Cisco and Juniper, including production of quality technical documentation for delivery and solution support.
  • Strong technical networking knowledge with industry recognized network certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA-Design or JNCIA-Junos.
  • Able to create non-standard solutions that may incorporate any of the following: LAN, WAN, WiFi, VPN, Voice, Video, Cyber and Security technologies. Liaise with others in the Program team where solutions cross responsibility borders.
  • Solid understanding of project end to end life cycle, through initial requirements gathering to Operational Acceptance into Service (AiS), including good commercial and financial awareness in terms of understanding risks and dependencies associated withany delivery project.
  • Able to support project management with any reporting, and to ensure timely project delivery that meets the customers expectation.
  • Excellent communications skills with multiple stakeholders, able to take ownership and responsibility and make quick decisions. Ability to communicate calmly and concisely with the Customer.
