Job Description

Maintenance Engineer required to join a fast-paced department in Solihull on a contracting basis paying a rate of £30.83 per hour (Umbrella PAYE).Our client is a world leading, automotive manufacturer of prestige and high valued motor vehicles. With an ever-evolving heritage, truly exciting future and two of the world’s most iconic brands, our client is revered across the globe continually pushingthe boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, setting the standards others want to follow.They are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer who is multi-skilled within Electrical Fault-Finding, Pneumatic Fault-Finding and Mechanical Fitting to join their team based in Solihull. This role is offered on an ongoing contractbasis, with permanent opportunities possibly available for the right candidates.Key duties & responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer:

  • Collaborate with the Reliability department in the factory Body shop to ensure smooth operations:
    • Actively contribute to the reliability departments objectives within the factory Body shop.
    • Work closely with the team to maintain and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Take charge as a first responder for issues and breakdowns on automated and robotic line work:
    • Promptly address and resolve any malfunctions or breakdowns occurring in the automated and robotic line.
    • Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify the root cause of issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform corrective repairs on all associated equipment:
    • Carry out necessary repairs on the various equipment and systems related to the automated and robotic line work.
    • Ensure timely and accurate execution of corrective measures to minimize downtime and optimize production output.
  • Thrive in a highly automated department.
  • Provide support to the Operational maintenance team.
The ideal Maintenance Engineer:
  • Experience in electrical, pneumatic and mechanical maintenance
  • Robotics and PLC experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Must be a good problem solver.
  • Qualified to Level 3 or recognised Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in Automotive, Food or FMCG automated industries.
  • Be a logical thinker.
  • Inquisitive about failures.
  • Have knowledge and practical understanding of H&S, C.O.S.H and environmental procedures.
  • Have a flexible attitude towards working hours as overtime may be required.
WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week - Earlies, Afternoons & Weekend Shifts, shift premiums apply.Any experience with the following Control Systems or Equipment maintenance is highly desirable; ABB iRC5 Robotics, Tucker SPR Systems, Tucker Studding Systems, SCA sealant Systems, Rockwell AB PLC, Ethernet Communications, ARO Weld Guns, BOSCH Weld timers,EFD Induction Curing, Staubli Tool Changer, Deprag flow screws, SEW Drive, TOX clinching systems, Ejot Weld, Clean Laser, Presitec Laser Welding, Scanosonic Laser welding, Laser Line Generators, Perceptron Inline Measurement, DC tooling, Sick Light Scanners.Key skills: Maintenance Engineer / Electrical / Pneumatic / Mechanical / Robotic / PLC
