Job Description

Logistics EngineeringSpecialist - 39635 Rate: £28.41/hr Umbrella – inside IR35Division: Manufacturing EngineeringLocation: SolihullThis is initially a 23 week Logistics Engineering Solution Design Specialist role, covering the early concept phases of a potentially large scale logistics project. We are looking for a proven Logistics Engineer or Planner, with broad knowledge of logisticengineering solutions, processes, systems and equipment and latest market trends.You will support the development of warehousing and logistics solutions to drive towards benchmark CPU/HPU performance through data analysis and proposing solutions.In your first few weeks in this logistics planning role, you can expect to:

  • Support development of warehousing and logistics solutions to drive towards benchmark CPU/HPU performance
  • Identify process waste and propose solutions
  • Manage the delivery of defined project elements in accordance with safety, sustainability, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Liaise with stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimise end-to-end processes and solutions
  • Define solution requirements and ensure project inputs are correct
  • Generate layouts and process flows.
To apply for this Logistics Specialist role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:
  • In-plant logistics processes, lineside delivery methods, storage media, kitting strategies, AGVs and handling equipment
  • Previous experience and background in Manufacturing Logistics
  • Understanding of logistics flows and process and principles of optimisation
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting data management, requirements gathering, solution and layout designs, business case creation, right through to delivery and final project completion.
  • Ability to create logistics warehouse and lineside layouts
  • Experience of Value Stream Mapping identification and elimination of waste.
