Are you interested in a career working with and caring for animals If so, then we have a Kennel Assistant role working within our one of our Government client`s teams located B26 near Birmingham Business Park. This is a temporary role paying £10.42p/h forthe first 12 weeks rising to £11.48p/h in the 13th working week.Due to the nature of the role, you must be a current passport holder and also hold a Full Manual UK Driving Licence. You must be comfortable driving vans/larger vehicles and working outside in all weathers, as the role will involve daily driving of officialvans to/from exercise areas and visits to local veterinary providers.You will be working alongside Dog Handlers within a highly specialised team. The role is to ensure that all dogs are provided with sufficient daily care including twice daily exercise and training activities, feeding, and grooming. Ensure that hygiene standardsin the kennels and dog vans are maintained, through a daily and weekly cleaning regime. Organise servicing and maintenance of unit vehicles. Ensure that there are adequate stocks of dog food, medicine and cleaning supplies. Co-ordinate all veterinary visitsand ensuring that medication is administered to the dogs. Assist dog handlers in setting up continuation training and with operational work as required. Ensure that all associated equipment is accounted for and maintained in an operational condition and recordedappropriately. This role will also include some clerical support for the Team.It is essential that all applicants are comfortable and confident around dogs, as exercising and administering medication, first aid and grooming dogs is an essential part of the job.
