Job Description

Role: IT TechnicianLocation: Solihull B91Salary: £11 - £12.75 per hourDuration: Up to end of December 2022Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am until 5pmWe are recruiting for an experienced IT Technician to provide technical support for PC hardware and software as well as troubleshooting for other IT and audio visual equipment. This is an immediate start temporary position covering long term sick until Christmasbut could be extended into the New Year. This is office based in Solihull town centre.Role and responsibilities:

  • As the IT Technician you will work to support the provision of IT and telecommunications
  • Provide offer technical support and maintenance for any problems which may arise in the use for audio-visual and telecoms facilities
  • Ensure all IT requests are dealt with quickly and effectively
  • Support the productivity of ICT services with handling on average atleast 3 calls a day
  • Work with a team to ensure the effective installation and configuration of IT and audio-visual equipment and services. This involves some lifting and carrying and includes the setup of presentation and display equipment
  • First line support to users on network issues, helping with connection issues to the network and corporate systems. Provide initial troubleshooting and diagnosis of networking or connectivity issues and to pass this information on and liaise with the teamto resolve the issue
  • Maintain the security and safety of IT and audio-visual equipment and systems and to update appropriate stock records and databases of hardware and software
  • General duties as required by the IT team
Skills and experience required:
  • Relevant qualifications in Electronics or Computing
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS windows and MAC software
  • Demonstrable PC hardware and software IT technical support experience is essential for consideration for this position
  • Experience of Apple MAC or telecomms experience desirable.
  • Confident communicator
  • Excellent organisational skills
