Job Description

IT Security ManagerPermanent West MidlandsMy client, a leading UK Brand based in the West Midlands are actively looking for a permanent IT Security Manager to help them to build out their security capability, across both Information and IT Security. This is a fairly Greenfield, site and the role will be to help them to attain Cyber Essential Plus certification as well as align to ISO27001 and develop their IT security monitoring capability. In order to be considered for the role you must have a strong technical aptitude coupled with extensive GRC experience. The role

  • Highly collaborative and pragmatic with excellent team management skills
  • A detailed working knowledge of industry standard tools, techniques, approaches and frameworks used to measure and implement a security strategy
  • A detailed working knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements of a business our type and scale
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment with a complex IT infrastructure and considerable volumes of personally identifiable information
  • A broad technical understanding
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • A commercial acumen to work within the constraints of a modest budgets
  • A knowledge of supply chain, likely to be derived from a retail background would be advantageous
  • Perform information risk assessment activities in line with regulation, e.g. DPIA
  • Respond and advise on data breaches
  • Support in all aspects of information and cyber security audits and assessments working closely with third party consultants
    • Key Responsibilities:The IT Security Manager will be responsible for the continual evolution of an Information and IT Security strategy, and the associated activity across the business. The remit spans beyond the IT Team into other technical and operational groups such as retail systems, logistics systems, finance systems, commercial systems and ecommerce and systems provided by 3rd party vendors.Other responsibilities include:
  • Regular reporting
  • Reviewing of Information Security documents in contracts
  • Advising the business on information security in respect of new vendors or projects
  • Ideally you will have worked with Cyber Essentials and OR ISO27001 in detail.
