Job Description

Financial Controller Up to £55000Solihull The CompanyA leading sporting organisation is seeking a financial controller the main objective of the charity is to provide guidance and educational opportunities alongside training and competition governance. The continued aim of the body is to continually improveon inclusion and host successful sporting events. This is a lead financial role reporting into the CEO and Board Members.What will you do

  • Act as a key point of contact for all budget holders building positive relationships and ensuring that all financial requirements and obligations are managed successfully.
  • Making full use of technology ensuring that financial systems are soundly operated, secure and based on the latest computer software
  • Ensuring financial compliance across gift aid VAT returns HMRC and charity law
  • Appropriate controls in place for all supplier purchases and invoices
  • Controlling the management of debtors and creditors
  • Providing management information, as required, for membership subscriptions, registrations and trading sales.
  • Managing day to day operation relationships with banks and investment managers
  • Liaising with managers in the setting and monitoring of monthly budgets
What do you need
  • Qualified or working towards a financial qualification
  • Experience of managing and mentoring a small finance team
  • User of advanced Excel with a good commercial acumen.
  • Sage accounting software
  • Ideally a knowledge of charitable or NFP accounting.
