We have a current opportunity for a DevOps Engineer on a contract basis. The position will be based in Solihull twice a week and will be INSIDE of IR35.Objectives of this role* Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure* Understanding the needs of stakeholders * Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes* Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats* Identifying technical problems and working to resolve the same.* Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended* Working with project and development teams Responsibilities* Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support* Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve efficiency* Perform root cause analysis of errors and resolve technical issues* Develop scripts to automate visualisation* Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenanceRequired skills and qualifications* Experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role* Problem-solving attitude* Collaborative team spirit* Work on DevOps activities in all layers of the stack, including infrastructure, applications/code, data layer as well as continuous integration and deployment.* Experience in Version Control, build pipelines, orchestration, application security & configuration management tools.* Have strong Microsoft technology stack (.Net framework and dot core code and SQL)* Provide support for new and existing programs and projects, as well as enhancements to existing applications, in conjunction with developers and test teams. * Ability to implement new approaches (Process & Tooling)* Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis and address issues in non-production and support production cases.* Proficient in setting up build/release pipelines, and practical application of the same (Azure Devops On premise). Looking at ways to improve existing solutions* Experience in test automation and processes (Postman/Newman)* Proficient Scripting experience in PowerShell, YAML/Json beneficial.* Experience in Application Security from a DevOps perspective.
