Job Description

Credit Controller / Solihull / £28,000 - £29,000 per year / Permanent / Full-TimeMacildowie are pleased to be partnered with an industry-leading company who are currently recruiting for a process-driven and system-literate Credit Controller to join on a Full-Time basis in this well-rewarded role. While regular working hours are 9am-5pm, flexible working hours are on offer. You will be assisting with recovering both small and larger debts from around 1200 live accounts, and there will be a chance to get involved in projects to streamline some processes in the near future - with a key focus on some of the smaller debtors. You will also be given the chance to work with a fantastic mentor who will help to guide you with the company processes and hopefully teach you a thing or two!Key Responsibilities:

  • Checking customer credit ratings/credit checks before opening client accounts
  • Resolving queries around outstanding invoices in a timely manner (both internal and external)
  • Collection of all debts and customer payments in a timely and effective manner
  • Liaising with Customer Services and reviewing pro-forma payments
  • Achieve outstanding levels of customer service to internal/external customers
  • Ensure a reduction in debtors DSO by frequently monitoring debtor balances
  • Provide aged debt reports and other accounts information on a weekly basis
  • Months end responsibilities including sending out monthly statements via systems and manual process
The ideal candidate will be:
  • A confident communicator over the phone and written - firm but polite!
  • At an intermediate level of computer literacy e.g. MS Office, and certainly Excel
  • Familiar with Sage or Opera accounting systems will give you an advantage, but this is not a deal-breaker!
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Able to follow processes, organisation skills, prioritisation of tasks, and ability to perform under pressure
  • Reliability and punctuality are key
