Job Description

Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an Commercial Accountant for a business based in Solihull. This role offers great exposure in a growing business, reporting to the head of finance, you will gain invaluable experience within this growing retailer.Key aspects of the role will include:

  • Overall responsibility for the Sales ledger
  • Weekly and monthly adjustments for supplier claims and marketing claims
  • Overseeing the raising of claims
  • Responsibility of the Marketing system
  • Liaising with Commercial teams and reconciling claims outstanding
  • Profitability analysis on marketing activity
  • Month end duties on the marketing system
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • VAT return preparation and reconciliation
  • Support with yearend audit
  • Line management of a finance assistant
  • Support for the Margin/Supplier Analyst
  • Assistance with management accounts and analysis for group companies
  • Assistance with budgeting and forecasting for group companies
The candidate were looking for:
  • Strong accounting and double entry knowledge essential.
  • Advanced skills in both Microsoft excel and access.
  • Working knowledge of the CODA financial system, Essbase and Harmony would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a methodical and analytic approach to work and problem solving.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate financial information to non-finance colleagues and with people at all levels.
  • Customer focused.
  • In the final stages of a recognised accounting qualification CGMA/ ACCA/ICAEW
