Job Description

Role: BI DeveloperContract: PermanentLocation: Remote working with adhoc attendance to Solihull officeSalary: £45 - 50,000We have an exciting opportunity to join an industry leading company to act as their BI expert mainly on Dundas BI, .Net and Java. This role is primarily based at home, but with the requirement to attend their head office near Solihull occasionally for meetingsas required.Role and responsibilities:

  • As a BI Developer, you will be responsible for acting as BI expert linking internal and external clients and technical development teams
  • Facilitation of problem solving with the technical team based on sound experience of BI packages
  • Proactively support the back office operations in customising dashboard visualisations and reports
  • Ensure the smooth delivery of the product and sprint backlogs with all teams
  • Proactive identification of optimization potentials
  • Translation and delivery of functional requirements developed internally to a technical design, datasets and roadmap for effective resolution
  • Optimization of business interfaces between clients, suppliers and other internal applications
  • Maintaining and developing various data models (cubes, stars, views, stored procedures) for the internal teams to consume
  • Management of the reporting instance (Dundas) including patching, updates and tuning as required
  • Data security, in order to assist the internal teams that they get the right data for their reports and presented to the right customers in an accurate and timely manner
Skills and experience required:
  • Proven work history in a similar role with an available portfolio of examples of previous work or projects to demonstrate skillset
  • Proven and extensive experience with BI packages, data modelling and projects (Dundas BI preferably) essential
  • Knowledge of common tools and methods in project management (Confluence/Jira preferably)
  • Desirable knowledge of .Net C#, XML, SQL, JSON
  • Desirable knowledge of DAX (Tabular module), MDX (OLAP)
  • Desirable knowledge of ETL/EDI tools and techniques such as SSIS
  • Desirable knowledge of data modelling (data warehouse and analytical models)
  • Ability to maintain and handle commercially sensitive data
  • Ability to work independently and manage a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in order to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels
