Job Description

phs Wastekit have an amazing opportunity for a Strategic Business Development Manager (Waste) where the focus will be to build relationships with National customers and advise on the use of Waste compacting and baling equipment to deliver environmental legislation and cost reduction. Also to deliver new contractual and equipment sales revenue in line with set annual budgets. Promote the phs Wastekit product range and brands, driving utilisation through increased rental business development.Develop phs Wastekit business and strategy within the waste services sector.Key Accountabilities

  • Identify, target and build relationships with decision makers in National customers with high volumes of cardboard and plastic waste.
  • Analyse the customers current waste disposal process and make recommendations on equipment and services that will reduce the customer’s costs and improve their environmental credentials.
  • Build relationships with both local and national recycling and waste disposal companies that can act as partners of phs Wastekit in the removal of the customers baled and compacted waste.
  • Advise customers and colleagues on specialist large equipment solutions and help design, development and installation.
  • Work with management to shape and execute the equipment strategy and deliver revenue and profit targets.
  • Work with Supply chain partners to deliver value and innovations for our customers.
  • Present and offer solutions and options that ensures the customer sees phs Wastekit as an added value partner / supplier. That this supports both customer and phs commercial requirements and supports the customer with continuous improvement and innovation
  • Work with PHS Wastekit Management and Sales team to implement a clear understanding of the customer’s needs and build strong working partnership across all areas of the business
  • Work with the team to ensure that the customer experiences the best and most appropriate level of support and service and that ultimately to the customer reflects a single joined up team approach
  • Generate timely management reports as required, identifying risks and opportunities with action plan to support
  • Ensure clarity with all stakeholders, with a proactive approach to customer service / satisfaction.
  • Your Skills, Knowledge and Experience will show:
  • A proven service or sales professional operating at major or key account level. A track record in a B2B solution sales/service environment, with a strong level of commercial acumen.
  • Deep knowledge of Waste processing market, competitors, or experience of similar markets such as Waste disposal or recycling.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of Waste management equipment and on site solutions
  • Highly developed commercial skills
  • Ability to analyse data to make decisions
  • Excellent communication skills both F2F and written, with a proven ability to influence others
  • IT literate, with an emphasis on using technology to be effective and productive.

  • Ideally the individual within two hours drive time of the Smethwick Head office.
