TeacherActive are working closely with an independent special school based in Stourbridge who are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant from September 2020! • The special school in Stourbridge provides innovative and experiential education, following a therapeutic curriculum.• The curriculum is developed out of the inspiration of Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin• The special school is Stourbridge supports young people (6 – 19 years) with complex learning needs, including autism and PDA.• The special school in Stourbridge offers on-site resources include a state-of-the-art sensory integration suite and family accommodation, along with resident carers teachers, psychologists, therapists and healthcare professionals.The school are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, to support and facilitate their learning, progress and wellbeing in a range of learning environments. • The Special Needs Teaching Assistant will support children and young people through the delivery of individually tailored educational and therapeutic programmes as well as assisting students with their daily independent living skills and personal care.• The Special Needs Teaching Assistant would be someone wishing to work in this field or a qualified TA with both experience in the classroom, working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).Successful Special Needs Teaching Assistants should be able to: • A patient, caring, compassionate and child-centred approach.• Excellent observation skills and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our children and young people to reach their full potential.• Emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to react calmly in challenging situationsAll of our supply staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you’re paying the right level of Tax and National Insurance and there’s no messing around with admin charges coming out of your hard earned cash.If you have knowledge and experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs, please apply now to be considered for an interview.
