Job Description

IT Support Services Manager - Permanent, Full Time, Based in Slough Our client are a well-established and fast growing provider of high-quality, supported living care services for vulnerable adults. During an exciting phase of further business expansion, they are looking for an experienced IT Services Manager to work alongside the Head of IT, with the aim of further enhancing the IT support function to the business and delivering excellent customer services. Information Technology plays a pivotal role in the continual development of the company and the business increasingly depends on having the right information at the right time.This role will be responsible for maintaining and developing the on-site IT infrastructure, managing the Helpdesk IT ticketing system and for ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely manner to meet the service level agreements. The Role requires the direct line management and development of a small team of UK based IT staff and an offshore ticket-help desk management team. Therefore, our client are seeking a highly technical IT Manager who has some experience of team leading or managing a small IT team.The benefits:

  • Key Features of the role:
  • Be fully accountable for IT Operations across all of our offices and care homes; including upkeep of servers, desktops, devices, network infrastructure, systems and computers.
  • Ensure that infrastructure is created or supported/managed in accordance with business needs.
  • To work with IT project, product and development teams as and when required, while at the same time managing business-as-usual support standards.
  • To manage the handling, scheduling, planning and resolution of IT issues from across the services.
  • Drive pro-active and preventative actions throughout the team, ensuring continual service improvement is delivered.
  • Ensure that the entire service is adhering to security best practice and leveraging the best tools, systems, processes and equipment for the departmental and company needs.
  • Analysing and identifying patterns and common trends which highlight areas for concern from the submitted IT tickets and initiating IT projects to tackle the root causes.
  • Security and risk conscious with experience in incident management, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Continuous advancement of the IT support function in conjunction with the IT development team
  • Provide users of IT with technical support and coaching where necessary
  • Skills/Experience Required:
  • Certification/knowledge of ITIL best practices and ISO27001 certification standard is a must
  • Proven team or project management experience will be considered
  • Extensive experience working with a Windows domain environment including Windows Server (2012, 2016 & 2019), Ubuntu/Windows (Window 7/10), Virtual Machines and Hyper-V, clustering with hands on experience.
  • Experience in LAN/WAN technologies, data storages (SAN/NAS) including VLANs, QoS, Firewall and WiFi security models.
  • Strong People/Direct line management experience, with the ability to motivate others;
  • Strong technical knowledge and excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • A willingness to roll up your sleeves and be hands-on, whilst exhibiting demonstrable initiative and a proactive approach
  • Able to support the Head of IT with the strategic development of the department/business function;
  • Able to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
