Job Description

Our Client is a joint venture company owned by several large oil operators responsible for leasing, managing, maintaining and operating aviation fuel tank farms and fuel hydrant systems. With approximately 7,000 items of plant listed in its maintenance system(mostly rotating machinery, valves and pipework.They are now seeking to hire x2 Fuel Technicians on a permanent basisDo you have a plant maintenance & fuel quality background on hazardous area sites£41k8% PensionAnnual Bonus4 on 4 off (earlys/lates/nights)The role -Primary function.

  • Acting as Fuel quality control inspector sampling procedures ensure that the fuel is "on specification and fit for purpose."
  • Operation of the tank farms and hydrants as instructed by supervisors and operations controller.
  • Operate start-up and shut down procedures efficiently and to procedures
  • Conduct Hydrant pit cleaning to schedule and sign records
  • Conduct Hydrant low point inspection, dynamics and flushings to schedule and sign records
  • Conduct fuel sampling accurately to procedure and defined parameters
  • Conduct maintenance activities to schedule and to a high standard
  • Conduct abnormal engineering work under PTW
  • Conduct isolation of plant to procedure (level 1 or under supervision)
  • Conduct override of plant for maintenance to the procedure
Secondary Function.
  • Support all activities of the company
  • Understand the basic SCADA operation and basic functions
  • Support engineering work in the tank farm and on the hydrant system
  • Role as Site incident controller in an emergency (with support of control room supervisor)
Skills, Experience, Knowledge and QualificationsEssential
  • Fuel Quality procedures and plant maintenance
  • Good Communication verbal and written
  • Able to work unsupervised, self-motivated, Organise and prioritise
  • Computer literate, PC/IT Skills
  • Numerate
  • Control of work and permit to work experience
  • Plant and equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrates Good HSSE behaviours
Desirable
  • Experience in working with pressures and volumes in a Hydrant system.
  • Hold a full HGV or LGV1 or 2 licence.
  • Airport and Into-Plane operation
  • Preferably engineering background, skills and experience
