Job Description

Are you an Experienced Customs Manager Have experience In Freight Forwarding Comfortable managing a team in a fast past environmentIf so, this role may be for you.The role deals with managing a team overseeing the customs clearance of land, air, and ocean shipments into the United Kingdom.Role Type: PermanentLocation: Colnbrook (slough)Hours: Monday - Friday 08.30h - 17.30h [ 1-hour unpaid lunch] [variable upon business needs - out of hours will be required which can if necessary be undertaken from home]Salary: Salary Range £45000 - £50,000 (Depending on Experience)Company BenefitsAlong with 20 days annual leave + Public holidays and yearly salary review or client offers the following benefits:Confidential EAP platform for you and your immediate family members as spouse/partners and children aged 16 to 24 in full-time education, living in the same householdAccess to our Employee Discounts and Perks, which includes Grocery Shopping, Holidays, Movies, Sports, Wellness and many more.After completing six months service, Death in Service equal to three times your annual salary.After one years service employees are eligible to join the Private Medical Scheme (application process required).After one years service company contributions increase 9% for the Group personal Pension Plan.Holiday loyalty days up to a maximum of 5 days (1 per each full year of employment completed)Job Duties & Responsibilities:

      Ensuring customs formalities are completed and funds are received prior to release of cargo.
Authorising release of cargo and instructing operations teams accordingly.Understanding compliance and the customs bond procedures [desirable].Utilising Inventory control system and shipment management system.Coordinating between the Operations, Customs and Finance teams.Accounting for demurrage, handling and non-compliance charges.Ensuring goods are processed and declared at consignment level via C88 to HMRC.Monitoring customs clearance and release.Ensuring all duties and taxes are charged and paid for in accordance with our agreed terms.Ensuring goods are not released without HMRC.Calculating and charging any warehouse rent costs.Maintaining warehouse inventory of cleared and non-cleared goods.Skills & Qualifications:
      Fully conversant with Customs procedures, including CDS.
