Job Description

Opportunity to transform manufacturing processes from Roto Moulding to newer technologies such as Injection Moulding, Blow moulding and Vacuum Forming. £35K-£45K + BenefitsWell-established manufacturing company in Sittingbourne, which supplies medical devices to the healthcare education sector in the UK and internationally are seeking a Tooling, Design & Development Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development,commissioning and staff training for new and existing tooling and processes used on the factory machines. The company is seeking an experienced, driven person, who will work closely with the Production Manager and R&D Manager, to ensure the company manufacturingstrategies are achieved successfullyRole:-

  • Arranging 3D scanning and CAD surfacing of new and existing tools, with external suppliers
  • Design of new tooling and reverse engineering of existing tools / products using CAD
  • Production of tools and jigs in house where possible
  • Liasing with external tool makers and component suppliers
  • Commissioning new tooling and moulds on factory machines
  • Training Factory Operatives on mounting /fitting and use of tools and moulds
  • Presenting regular updates at Management Meetings
Key Skills:-
  • Working knowledge of Rhino, Solidworks and SpaceClaim CAD/CAM software
  • Knowledge and experience working with plastic Injection Moulding
  • Blow Moulding, Vacuum Forming and CNC Machine knowledge and experience would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
