Job Description

Able to demonstrate excellent supervisory and organisational skills, you will be an integral part of the cleaningteam, responsible for ensuring all public and staff areas of the main sanctuary sites are kept in a safe and clean condition and presented to the highest standard.About you:

  • Able to demonstrate previous cleaning experience, the knowledge of safe cleaning practices and the implementation and adherence of standards and procedures
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail within both the cleaning and administrative elements of the role
  • Demonstrate previous experience working within a supervisory role
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills, able to demonstrate the ability to make good decisions under pressure, prioritising own work and that of the team whilst maintaining professionalism and composure to deliver on deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be adept and flexing communication styles to different individuals
  • Able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills which includes experience of dealing with enquiries from members of the public
  • Able to multi task and able to demonstrate working with a number of conflicting demands
  • Adaptable to the demands of working in an areas of rapid change and development
  • Competent IT skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Fluent in English;
  • Full valid driving licence.
About the role:Your principal duties and responsibilities will include –
  • Ensuring that the cleaners under your supervision carry out cleaning functions effectively and promptly
  • Scheduling and assigning cleaning rotas and specific duties to the cleaning team
  • Proactively monitoring and reporting on cleaning standards and compliance
  • Supporting the development and implementation of standard cleaning specifications
  • Ensuring a safe, responsive and efficient cleaning service for all events and activities
  • Ensuring the safety and proper use of correct cleaning materials for each specific job, following COSHH instructions
  • Supervising, and assisting with, the cleaning of all public areas, offices and toilets around the main sanctuary sites this will include (but not to be limited to) dusting and polishing, emptying bins, hoovering and mopping floors, cleaning the toilet facilitiesand main restaurant areas
  • Assisting with the development and training of the cleaning staff.
