Job Description

Avenues is a community where people smile, laugh, grow and achieve great things.We are pleased to offer a new opportunity for a Sales Ledger and Credit Controller to join our Finance department on an initial 6 month fixed term contract. This could be extended to an additional 3 months.We are offering hybrid working and so the role will be based partly at our Sidcup office as well as working from home. This role is full time, Monday to Friday 37 hours per week.In this role you will produce timely and accurate sales invoices, chase late invoices and recover cash for all invoices due.

  • To maintain and implement a comprehensive schedule detailing the invoices to be raised each month, when it should be raised and who is to provide the invoicing information
  • Ensure that invoices produced are properly supported and all related documentations are consistently filed in an orderly manner
  • To actively manage debtor accounts including outstanding debtor balances and liaise with customers and operational staff to ensure balances do not become overdue.
  • To contribute to the production of weekly and monthly reports on the status of aged debtors and the implication for cash flow.
  • Ensuring good relations and communications with all members of the team and responding politely and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers
  • Assist with month end, year-end and special projects in accordance with the relevant timetables
  • Ad hoc duties as required including providing cover across Sales Ledger and Finance teams
Our ideal candidate looks like this!
  • Experience in sales ledger and credit control
  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping double entry system
  • Experience of computerised accounting packages, databases and MS Office Applications particularly Excel to intermediate level
  • Experience in keeping appropriate filing and following up on emails on a regular basis
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met, with the ability to be self-motivating and undertake tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
