Job Description

This business handles transport industry claims (related to losses, damage, etc). They have a great record of employing graduates who have gone on to have successful careers with them, and have progressed within the business.Full training is provided. Initially you will be supporting experienced staff and then in time you could be managing your own caseload, from taking first notification through to settlement. You will be collating information, and communicating with insurers, and lawyers. Advising clients, identifying third-party fault, and then negotiating and settling recovery claims. The role is in the recoveries team, which relates to proceeds from insurance policies covering the loss of damaged or destroyed assets. The business has the largest specialist in-house recoveries team in the World. There could also be the opportunity to work towards a role where you will be working on major shipping incidents (some that your friends and family will even have heard of - for example the vessel that was in the news in 2021 for becoming "stuck" in theSuez Canal). These claims are very large, and complex. This would mean a promotion and a salary increase (usually takes a year or so to get to that level). You should be confident in the negotiation aspect, this will require confidence and tenacity as it can sometimes be a little confrontational in nature. There is some flexibility on degree type.Location is Sidcup, south-east London. After the initial training period, if all goes well you would have the option to work from home for up to 2 days a week. Salary is reviewed after a few months in the role.
