Job Description

You could be teaching a drama class one day, getting your gardening gloves on the next or evengoing to theme parks. However, it is not all go, all the time. The people you will be supporting love to wind down watching lots of different movies, listening to music and playing around with craft supplies.Discovery Support Workers do not need prior experience in Health Care Assistant or Social Care roles as full training is given.A Full UK driving license is essential for this role.We are happy to offer Full or Part Time Contracts to suit your lifestyle.Benefits for Support Workers working with Discovery include:

This role enjoys a great mixture of team work and one-to-one time with the people we support, allowing Support Workers to enjoy a supportive team atmosphere while also building fantastic relationships with the people we support.The people we support choose what they want to do with their day, part of your role as a Support Worker will be to promote and encourage this.Your role may also include:
  • Enabling independence by assisting with day-to-day tasks (this may includebut not be limited tofinances, shopping, cooking & personal care)
  • You will keep written records, using IT systems to record daily notes, and be confident using our systems to record incidents
  • Be prepared to work flexibly. This could include working some weekends, waking nights or sleep ins if required and bank holidays. (Shifts may start at different times, this can be discussed at pre-screen and interview)
