We are looking for an Ophthalmology Nurse to join our team. Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet has been rated Outstanding by the CQC, putting it at the very top of the regulator’s quality ratings, which means that you can be sure you are part of a team providing safe, reliable and patient-focused care.About the roleYou will be a valued member of our professional and experienced multidisciplinary team, coordinating the patient’s journey from pre-admission to discharge. You will organise and undertake pre-operative assessments, including specialised biometry and ophthalmic measurements of patients, ensuring that they are fit for surgery. In addition you will participate in the ongoing development of the ophthalmology service within the hospital. As an NMC registered General Nurse, you will have recent experience in ophthalmology, outpatient and pre-assessment, as well as training in physical examination. Extensive and relevant experience in acute care or elective surgery nursing is key for this role, as well as up to date hands on clinical skills including, phlebotomy, IV drug administration and performing ECG’s.Working at Practice Plus GroupIn turn we will support you to help you grow in your role and take your career in the direction you want to go.
