Job Description

  • Job Title: Experienced HR Officer (1 Year Contract
  • Salary: Pro rata salary on £29,841
  • Hours: Part Time from 22.2 to 30 hours and working days will be a Wednesday and Friday
  • Location: Shepton Mallet - Please note This role would be remote, with visiting the offices once a month / every 6 weeks.
HR GO Recruitment are looking for an experienced HR Officer (Casework) to help support and advise managers in all matters relating to Human Resources Management. You will joining a small but busy HR team to help support the organisation on a on a temporarybasis until 31st March 2023.Duties will include
  • Providing advice and support to managers and employees on a range of employment issues including conditions of service and employee benefits, discipline, grievance, performance management and absence management.
  • Providing advice and support to managers and employees on absence.
  • Championing wellbeing initiatives and recommending and initiating interventions such as referrals to occupational health, counselling and our employee assistance programme.
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Councils HR policies and procedures, conditions of service and employment law are met.
  • Review, revise and develop personnel policies and procedures.
Skills and experience
  • Member of the CIPD
  • CIPD (Level 3 & above) qualified with year experience or equivalent level of experience.
  • Experience of handling complex issues such as managing sickness, pressure and stress in the workplace and employee relations.
  • Substantial experience of advising and supporting managers on a range of employment issues.
  • Substantial experience of assisting managers in the recruitment and selection of staff.
  • Experience in the use of IT systems i.e. Word, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment issues in line with legislation, conditions of service and HR best practice.
  • A people person.
