Health, Safety and Environmental ManagerShepton Mallet£40,000 - £50,000We are currently managing an exciting project to recruit a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for our long -term client.The company are a family run business in an industry which will never die out. Due to an increase in production and a heavy investment they have created a brand new position for a HSE Manager to join their organisation. Due to the nature of the business and the level of the position you will be reporting directly into the MD>The main purpose of the position is as follows:- To manage the Health, Safety and environmental (HSE) strategy across the site.- To carry out and record HSE audits of areas and site risk assessments on site equipment and procedures and maintain the company HSE databank. - To construct company HSE Policies and procedures with action to train and lead implementation in these.Key responsibilities:- Carry out site risk assessments, considering how risks could be reduced and implement actions.- Carry out regular HSE site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.- Make changes to working practices and procedures to ensure that they are safe and comply with legislation.- Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies.- Recording of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for the SMT- Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments that affect the Business/industry.- Controlling high risks areas, e.g. Work place transport, working at height, fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, COSHH, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases/hazards.To be considered for this exciting role we are looking for candidates with experience of:- A sound technical background with the ability to manage tasks using a lateral, methodical approach, matched by a demonstrable flair for staff involvement.- NEBOSH qualification.- Coaching and leading a team- Extensive experience of environmental waste control and reduction.- Ability to manage energy reduction program.- Manufacturing experience preferred- Demonstrates strong analytical and planning skills.- Demonstrable decision making skills- Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word & PowerPointBenefits:£40,000+40 Hours per weekCompany private health care schemeLife insurance 2.5 of annual salary Enhanced company sick pay33 days holiday per annum (including B/H)Applications are actively encouraged form suitably experienced candidates.
