Job Description

- Fleet and Compliance Manager - Leading 3PL Business in Shepton Mallet.- This role is newly created and will give you the opportunity to lead and develop Compliance for a growing transport operation.Client DetailsMy client is a growing 3PL who are based in Somerset; with a base in Shepton Mallet. They are within the Logistics Distribution and Supply chain sector.They have created a new role which has been created to underpin changing demands.This is a very rare exciting opportunity however you must be within a commute or able to travel daily.DescriptionThe role of the Fleet Manager accountabilitys will include:

  • Ensuring all sites and customer objectives are achieved
  • Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures
  • Making sure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained and serviced
  • Ensure that all vehicle checks are completed daily by drivers and actioned if appropriate, arranging and organising any remedial repairs
  • Ensure all our vehicles are FORS compliant and ready for annual audits
  • Ensure all driver licences are regularly checked
  • Liaise with maintenance companies
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure that works are undertaken on schedule
  • Manage all vehicle insurance issues
  • Maintain accurate administrative records.
  • Appraise staff performance and also taking disciplinary measures when required.
  • Liaise with H&S Manager on all Health and Safety issues and report accidents promptly
Travel as needed for Fleet Management requirements.ProfileThe role of a Fleet Manager involves the following duties:* Assessing drivers and delivering Inductions* Arranging repairs and routine maintenance* Drivers Hours Rules and regulations and subsequent infringements.* Ensuring that all drivers and operators have the correct, up to date qualifications* Maintaining and completing accurate records* Keeping schedules and organising team membersThe candidate must be knowledgeable of all the regulations and duties involved with being a FM as well as persuasive enough to ensure that transport departments route the vehicles into the workshops when booked.A National CPC certificate is essential as well as experience in the role.Job OfferThe successful Fleet Manager will receive;Salary - £40,000 - £45,000Pension20 Days + Bank HolidaysLife Assurance
