Five Education are working with a special FE College in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. We are looking for an experienced SEND Teacher who can deliver Science. The children at the school have a variety of SEND needs including ASC and SpLD . The chosen candidatewill be expected to plan, deliver and monitor their progress through a bespoke curriculum. This role is due to start ASAP. The school are looking for experienced candidates who have taught SEND children previously. The school will consider people at the start of their teaching career who have knowledge of supporting children with additional needs. For example, someone who has workedas an HLTA in a special school. The school is well staffed and well resourced, it has an excellent reputation within the local community. You will be working in class with young people within an age range of 15-25 with a range of needs.The successful candidate will benefit from CPD opportunities provided by the school. Evidence differentiation in all tasks, so that all students can access the curriculum Implement behaviour management tools Teach the curriculum using existing resources as well as using your own initiative to engage pupils. Track and monitor progress using school systems Communicate pupils progress to parents/ guardians.Essential Criteria: A flexible and resourceful approach At least 12 months experience supporting/teaching children/ young people in an educational, care or coaching environment Ideally, you will have experience supporting/teaching children or young people with SEND Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/ Police checks Access to bicycle, car or near main bus routes. Able to work 8.30-3.30, 5 days per week term time onlyEssential criteria: Previous experience working with individuals with SEN/Autism/Complex Needs/SEMH. Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa).
