Job role: Depot Manager. Job location: Shepton Mallet.Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 subject to skills and relevant experience.Shifts: Days - Monday to Friday - 7 - 3.30. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Engineering effectiveness, vehicle availability and compliance through the effective and efficient management of a busy Engineering Team undertaking detailed diagnostics and supporting repairs on theirFleet of Class 59 diesel Locomotives plus additional/occasional diesel stock in line with company Standards and ProceduresThis is an exciting/excellent career opportunity and a rare chance to be considered for a Senior Man Management role where you can utilise your technical experience in delivering maintenance to the fleet to ensure vehicle availability in line with Fleet needsand requirements. Reporting directly to the Diesel Fleet Engineer, this role requires you to be an effective man manager driving maintenance efficiencies and using your extensive data skills to deliver on time reports to the senior management time on a dailyand weekly basisPerson Profile/Experience:A skilled Technician, ideally time served, you will have previous experience of undertaking Team Management, you will be responsible for ten people, effectively delegating tasks to your Team Leaders enabling you to manage and record WIP, delays, units nearingcompletion and issues requiring your attention. Youll have the ability to make sound engineering decisions undertake detailed briefings to your Operations Teams and Management in readiness for daily reports and updates to the wider business using your exemplarycommunication skills, written and oral.Adhere to health and safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards. Comply with all instructions, rules and regulations in forceEnsure Engineering, H&S compliance and good housekeeping on and around the DepotManage maintenance, service, fault find and repair of Locomotives in accordance with the approved maintenance plans as required by the BusinessSupport your Engineering Management Colleagues in making essential engineering decisions that may affect the availability of the fleetEnsure all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed on time and to required company standardsYou will be physically fit and healthy, you will be required to undertake a NWR related medical and drugs & alcohol test which must be passed before any offer can be made, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required.
