My client based Near Shepton Mallet is looking for a IT EngineerThis is a great opportunity for someone who has a couple of years experience or just finished an IT apprenticeship through to an experienced IT engineerIts a hands role and will involve dealing with issues over the phone as well as going to the clients offices and warehouse and dealing with the problem in personIF you havent got all of the skills listed below please still get in touch as there might be other opportunities for the right person. I will stress though this is NOT a trainee positionHours: Monday to Friday 8:00 to 17:00 plus out of hours support on a rota basis.Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 D.O.EYou will be Responsible For:Managing all internal Infrastructure including; hardware, software, server OS, firewall, wireless and LAN infrastructure.Ensuring Business Continuity through constant improvement of systems and disaster recovery planning.Internal software development as required by the business including planning, testing, deploying & training users.Purpose of Job:The IT department are responsible for managing all internal Infrastructure including; hardware, software, server OS, firewall, wireless and LAN infrastructure.Business Continuity as well as Disaster Recovery planning are also key responsibilities for the IT department.IT within the clients premises and site a wide and varying environment and the IT Department is responsible for all internal software development including planning, testing, deploying, specification writing and liaison with external parties.The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for understanding operation process and an innate ability to develop based on requirements.The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and show an aptitude toward continual system continuity and development.Required Skills:* Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 experience* Microsoft Business 365 management and configuration* SQL Server experience managing multiple SQL Server instances* Project Management skills* VMWare or Hyper-V experience in a production environment as the entire infrastructure is virtualised* Networking skills including DHCP, DNS, Firewall knowledge and administration* NAS/SAN experience in a production environment (iSCSI, NFS)* Veeam Backup experience or previous experience of Physical/Virtual backup products* Strong personal skills as will be customer faced and will include customer facing meetingsResponsibilities:* Continual development of bespoke systems ensuring systems move with the business direction* Management of internal ERP Systems ( Transport Management System - Mandata ) and Warehouse Management Systems* Management of Windows Server infrastructure to ensure 24/7 running operation to the business (including on-call support)* Management of SAN/NAS/VMWare environment to ensure 24/7 availability of data and infrastructure to the business* Management of internal ISO9001 documentation, procedures and other related training material* Management of all Network infrastructure including Wireless, Firewall, Anti-Spam, Proxy, DNS, DHCP, VLAN services* Management of any additional requirements as seen fit by the businessAnnual Leave: 20 days per year plus bank / public holiday
