Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to work with a well established care provider that for the past 8 years has been providing residential live in support for young adults (16-18 years old) with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour who have been in the children home system. The live in staff are there to teach them the life skills to be functional in the wider community and give any emotional support where needed to help them develop and eventually live on their own.They are recruiting for a full time live in residential support worker for young people, you will be:-

  • Based in a house in or around the Sheffield are
  • Working one week on then one week off (they also have 4 days on / 4 days off shifts) - this includes the overnight stays at the house
  • Supporting the young person on a daily basis developing their life skills - helping them balance a shopping budge, job applications, teaching them cooking, opening a bank account, basic life skills
  • Making sure they are supported emotionally when needed and letting them flourish
    • Qualifications/Experience/Requirements
  • Living in or around the Sheffield area
  • You must over 25 years old
  • Having any experience working with young people would be preferred - from a residential support background, drugs and alcohol counselling for young people background, social worker background, young people’s homelessness charity for example
  • Having an NVQ level 3 children and young people’s workforce would be beneficial but not essential as they will put you on that course after 6 months
