Job Description

An experienced Workshop Manager is needed to join the team at this premium boring and turning company based in Sheffield on a full-time basis.Through considerable growth since their conception, their excellent reputation has been built over many years by providing high-quality solutions combined with a trusted and reliable service. They specialise in deep hole boring, drilling, honing and CNCturning for global clients in multiple sectors.As their Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the production and workshop staff and must report directly to the Production Manager.This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career with a well-established company!About the RoleAs Workshop Manager, you will oversee and optimise the production teams activities and processes at the Nexus Deep bore facility, ensuring efficient operations. Moreover, you will drive production to meet business objectives, focusing on schedule adherence,data capture, analysis, and continuous process improvement.Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the production plan ensuring schedule adherence is achieved and non-productive time is kept to a minimum
  • Manage the throughput from material receipt to delivery in line with customer requirements. This includes but is not limited to goods in, consumables, production, inspection and packing
  • Ensure customer delivery updates are submitted on a regular basis and communication is maintained at a high standard
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with their Quality Management System
  • Support Quality investigations and maintain high-quality levels of the facility in line with their ISO 9001 requirements
  • Control maintenance of all machinery to ensure continuous production
  • Have a continuous improvement mentality to ensure they are working to best practice
  • To support, develop and discipline (where necessary) the production team
  • Hold regular meetings with staff to keep them informed and maintain standards
  • Management of health and safety standards to adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 and company handbook
  • Report regularly regarding any issues, i.e. overruns, machinery failures etc
  • Attend regular meetings with fellow managers to discuss specific projects, measurements and KPIs
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and flexibility with working hours to meet business demands
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
Desirable Skills:
  • Proficiency in modern manufacturing technologies and software
  • Good IT skills
  • Experience in fostering a collaborative work environment and promoting professional development
