Job Description

Work-based Learning Tutor for Carpentry & Joinery£32,836 - £35,37737 Hours per week X 52 Weeks per yearAs a Work-based Learning Tutor for Carpentry & Joinery, you’ll be in a rewarding & varied role, getting out & about in the community and visiting a range of businesses to pass on your skills and develop the next generation of construction professionalsIt’s also a fantastic opportunity to step into a teaching positionand gain formal educational qualifications while enjoying the better work-life balance and benefits package of a college role.You’ll be building relationships with employers and maximising opportunities for apprentices while working closely with them to monitor progress through 1:1’s and identify areas needing focus.Apply now if you believe in the benefit of apprenticeships and are looking for a rewarding work-based learning role with a high degree of autonomy!To arrange a chat about working with the college or what your route into education would look like, email your details.Day-to-day you will be responsible for:

  • Teaching C&J in a hands-on practical learning environment
  • Monitoring & Assessing learner progress
  • Liaising and building relationships with employers
  • Championing our commitment to putting students first

  • Effectively supported students in their apprenticeships
  • Enthusiastically engaged with the colleges dedicated CPD programmes
  • Built Strong working relationships and supported colleagues where possible
We’re open-minded & welcome all applicants who believe they can build success with us, though ideally, you will:
  • Have qualifications and strong industry experience in Carpentry/Joinery/Woodworking
  • Hold a qualification such as A1/TAQA/Certificate in Education & Training or be willing to work towards upon starting (Fully funded by us!)
  • Be enthusiastic about work-based learning for construction apprentices
  • Be excited to bring fresh ideas to the table and help us constantly improve
