Job title: Web Portal ArchitectLocation:Sheffield / / London / Hybrid home workingTerm: PermanentSalary: Up to £50,000 per annum, +excellet benefitsWere looking for a Web Portal Architect to be responsible for the for the standards, architecture and technical approach taken by the Portal Application Team.As a prestigious organisation at the forefront of the governments efforts to help finance markets work better so that businesses across the UK can survive, prosper, and grow, this high-profile position offers a Web Portal Architect the opportunity to takea lead role in the Portal Platform design in-line with company Architecture Principles.You will work closely with the Business Analysts to ensure requirements are gathered and accurate information is provided, liaising effectively with business and technical stakeholders, and uild and maintain strong working relationships and open lines of communicationwith other Application/Enterprise Architects, IT and Business Colleagues.Knowledge and experience: Build and Maintain Web Platform Architecture and Design within the company. Become the technical subject matter expert for Portal Application and accurately respond to any questions and issues relating to the Application and Platform. Play lead role in defining changes to the Portal platform by understanding the business requirements as well as the technical impact of the changes. Provide Technical Solutions to the Portal Application/platform - ranging from small fixes and improvements to large projects; ensuring that any changes continue to meet business needs while adhering to companys Architecture Principles. Work closely with the Business Analysts to ensure requirements are gathered and accurate information is provided Liaising effectively with business and technical stakeholders. Review low level technical designs to ensure solution meets company functional and non-functional requirements. Provide periodic Project Report to Business and IT stakeholders. Ongoing review of SLAs and non-functional features to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose and propose time to time changes for Continuous Improvement. Build and maintain strong working relationships and open lines of communication with other Application/Enterprise Architects. IT and Business Colleagues.Knowledge and Experience:Essential: 10-12 yrs. of Software Life cycle development in Open-Source Web Application Framework. Through understanding of Ruby on Rails Framework and RubyGems. Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns commonly used in Web APIs. Have designed websites and backend systems and APIs to a high standard of security, scalability, reliability, and operability. Strong knowledge of SDLC, Git based versioning systems and CI/CD, automated functional and integration tests. Experience in full stack development (UI, API, Service, Storage). Good Understanding of Java Scripts and CSS concepts. Experience in Collaboration Tools such as Trello/JIRA.Desirable: Understanding of NoSQL/schema-less architectures Understanding of Microservice Architecture Understanding of Azure Cloud Infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform TOGAF knowledge/ Certification Qualifications: Educated to degree level or hold equivalent experience
