Job Description

UX DeveloperPermanent Full-time (40 hours/week)Salary: Up to £50,000/yearThe jobGuildhawk is seeking to recruit a UX Developer as part of a team to design and develop a cloud-based interactive service that is core to the companys strategic vision. You will be helping to innovate, design and develop an interactive digital platform that will support the management of the next generation of gig-economy contractors, challenging not only your own skills but also the industry as a whole as well as the companys business model. You will work directly with senior company staff as well as two Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associates (Software Developer and Interaction Designer) as well as Junior and Senior Software Developers.The job will provide you with excellent prospects working on a high-profile project, considerable scope for personal development and a great opportunity to play a significant role in the companys growth.The companyFounded in 2001, Guildhawk is an ethical and successful global tech and language company. Technology is in Guildhawk’s DNA, and during the pandemic, the company developed and launched three exciting digital projects that are wowing global customers.Role purposeTo lead, design and create innovative interactive digital front-ends that will support the transparent management of the next generation of gig-economy contractors. The role requires knowledge of interaction design techniques (such as user-centred design, participatory design, usability and/or user experience) as well as strong front-end development skills.Responsibilities

  • To design and develop quality innovative and visually attractive interactive solutions (including strong iconography design skills and the ability to design visual aids to improve productivity).
  • To lead, design, create and evaluate prototype user interfaces for a new cloud-based platform.
  • To work effectively with stakeholders to innovate new user interface concepts.
  • To implement and evaluate new user interface designs.
  • To engage and work with Guildhawk stakeholders to develop the new system and the new user interfaces and ensure effective product delivery.
  • To lead, manage, plan and conduct acceptance testing and evaluation, both within the company and with external partners.
  • To promote, demonstrate, critically analyse and review the new platform with Guildhawk executives and staff, as well as external partners.
  • This list is not exhaustive and you may be required to undertake other duties in line with project requirements.Skills, knowledge and experience required
  • At least 3 years’ experience of UX/UI design (including front-end development)
  • Commercial experience or equivalent in interaction design including user-centred design, user experience prototyping and development, and usability evaluation
  • Knowledge of, or experience in web user experience, user interface design and tools for the creation of user interface designs and/or prototypes (e.g. Adobe XD)
  • Good knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Good knowledge of JS, jQuery, Bootstrap and Ajax (desirable)
  • Understanding of Agile methodology and version control tools (e.g. GitHub)
  • Experience of digital collaboration tools, or online workflow systems
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to provide mentoring and coaching to more junior team members
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise work with conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to understand workflows, business needs and processes
