About UsSSB Law are leaders in dispute resolution specialising in Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Professional Negligence Japanese Knotweed Litigation, claims for Defective Cavity Wall Insulation, Data Protection, Financial Misselling, Timeshare Misselling,Housing Disrepair and many other innovative ranges of Commercial Dispute Resolution.The Role The UCIS Litigator is responsive for effective file handling and client care in pursuing a claim for compensation on the Client’s behalf.Unauthorised or Unregulated Collective Investment Schemes are a form of investment where the fund manager takes a Client’s investment and pools it with others using the total to buy stocks, bonds or property. These Schemes fall outside of the Scope of theFinancial Conducts Regulation and therefore when things go wrong the Client is unlikely to have any protection afforded to them by the Financial Ombudsman Service or Financial Services Compensation Scheme.Types of issues which are known to arise:- Financial Advisor Mis-selling (nature of the investment, rate of return, charges and terms not explained)- Inadequate advice (risks, affordability)- Unsuitable investments made- Underlying assets not easy to sell at short notice so difficult to cash in- Scheme Insolvency- Conveyancing Solicitor NegligencePrimary Duties- Run your own caseload to ensure that all claims are up to date and progressed in the correct time frame- Taking potential customers through a full claim assessment and fact find over the phone and assessing if they have had a financial loss and if a claim can be made.- To review incoming information and establish a possible claim route, whether that be an FSCS/FOS or litigation- Establish at the earliest opportunity an entity who a claim can be brought against- Checking all compliance requirements were on the file; ie. Research, AML evidence, Terms of Business- Request all relevant information from the relevant parties as soon as identified- Be proactive and use initiative when presented with problems or issues- Provide excellent customer service by regularly updating clients on the progress of their case, costs and answering any queries in a professional manner- ·Be proactive in your approach to the role by constantly researching the area of law you practice and keeping up to date with all relevant case law/industry updatesAttributes and Competencies Required- Excellent technical skills in the field of litigation, an ability to make a considered judgement call and a proven history of meeting and exceeding client expectations.- Candidates will need to be assertive, focussed and be able to present themselves in a confident manner to clients, particularly high net worth individuals.
