Job Description

Role: TutorSalary: Up to £ 27,905 per annumLocation: SheffieldContract type: PermanentThe Growth Company’s Employment team are looking for two Tutors to support the Hub Manager and Activity Hub Team Lead to develop, promote, deliver and assess a number of short interventions that address life skills, confidence, motivation, attitudes and behaviours, and support participants to address barriers to achievement and progression, by empowering and equipping them to be able to achieve their goals.Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote interventions and courses and help recruit participants in order to maximise occupancy levels
  • Carry out initial and ongoing assessment to ensure that participants are suited to hub interventions and courses and that they are receiving the right level of support
  • Plan and design appropriate training programmes and interventions, taking into account individual participant requirements to ensure differentiation of learning
  • Adopt effective use of new technologies and digital platforms
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging training to encourage participants to attend and complete their hub actions and activities
  • Deliver interventions and programmes at the hub itself, but also on an outreach basis at other community and voluntary sector venues
  • Prepare participants to successfully undertake assignments or sit tests/exams in order to maintain high success rates
  • Monitor and track participants’ progress, including via reviews, to ensure high attendance and achievement rates
  • Provide structured feedback and set development objectives
  • Moderate coursework and liaise with external moderators to ensure that awarding body standards and deadlines are met
  • About You:
  • Experience in delivering a range of short interventions that can develop life skills, confidence and motivation, and address attitudes and behaviours
  • Experience of teaching and learning quality standards; in particular Ofsted
  • A warm, approachable and empathetic style and the ability to establish a rapport and build relationships with customers that support their progression to sustained employment
  • Up-to-date knowledge of specialist subject area and professional qualifications as appropriate
  • Must hold a teaching qualification, i.e. PGCE, PGDE, Cert Ed, DTLLS (and L5+ subject specialisms where necessary)
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and procedures
  • Motivating, inspiring and supportive personality with a flexible approach
  • Skills Required:
