Job Description

Job Title: Training ManagerLocation: SheffieldSalary: >c£45,000 + benefitsEstablished in 1989, Our client is the UKs leading passive fire protection specialist, supplying a comprehensive range of third-party accredited survey, installation and compliance services to public and private sector organisations across the country.With offices nationwide, this is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking, modern construction business, that genuinely cares about its people.Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the assessment of potential and/or new recruits, ensuring their suitability for the role as applicable
  • Assist with the design and delivery of effective induction training for all new employees
  • Identify, plan and deliver training courses/programmes where necessary to augment that provided externally and/or to teach/instil The Checkmate Way
  • Develop, implement, review, and update training programmes, manuals, materials, tools, competency sign off, training observations and evaluation forms
  • Attend sites to assess competence in the live working environment as and when required
  • Ensure Training Competency Workbooks are completed to individual employee requirements, working with management (and HR) as appropriate to set SMART objectives to address skills/experience gaps
  • Assist the Technical team with the ongoing assessment and improvement of quality and compliance in accordance with the Quality Policy
  • Promote and ensure safe working practices in line with current Health and Safety legislation including internal health and safety team stipulations and risk assessments
  • Staying informed as to relevant skill and qualifications levels required by staff for effective/compliant performance, circulating requirements and relevant information to the organisation as appropriate
  • Monitor and report on activities/progress as required
  • Assist with continuous improvement/development of the Academy and its offerings
  • Any other duties commensurate with the level and nature of the post
Experience / Qualifications:
  • Experience within a similar training/training management/assessment position
  • Experience of delivery and assessment of training (Carpentry & Joinery)
  • Substantial current experience, knowledge and understanding of Carpentry and Joinery (inc passive fire protection - preferred)
  • Level 3 qualification in Carpentry/Joinery
  • Relevant teaching and assessing qualification
