Job Description

NXTGEN are supporting a public sector organisation in their search for a Temporary Project Accountant on an initial 12 month contract. Working closely with the Finance Transformation Lead, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a mix of stakeholdersto understand current month end processes before making recommendations on the re-design of reporting processes. You will review current month end reports and identify opportunities for improved MI to enable more effective decision making across the organisation.The Temporary Project Accountant will gain exposure to a range of senior stakeholders including the CFO, providing regular updates on the status of the project and any risks/issues identified. The successful candidate will also be tasked with tracking projectcosts, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets are adhered too.

  • Lead on a range of transformational projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
  • Lead the review of current management accounting and reporting processes, identifying opportunities for improvements alongside cost centre leaders
  • Delivery of month end reports and management accounts for projects
  • Work closely with finance business partnering team on project cost and spend planning, ensuring budgets are controlled effectively
  • Support the Oracle system transformation project, identifying potential risks and issues
The successful candidate will ideally be fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a strong management accounting background. Any experience gained in project or change management would be significantly advantageous given the very project driven environmentthis role sits within. You will be an effective business partner whos confident working with cost centre leaders as well as senior stakeholders, presenting a range of financial data. Candidates will ideally be confident working with ERP systems and will beconfident supporting the delivery of system and process improvements across an organisation. Good Excel and data manipulation skills are essential with any experience using Oracle significantly advantageous. This role is available for immediate interview anda quick start following a background checking process.To be considered for this role, candidates will need to have resided within the UK continuously for at least 5 years at the time of application.
