Job Description

A great opportunity has arisen for a writer / editor to join a leading steel market analysis company, specialising in independently researched global steel prices, indices, and forecasts.To support the development and growth of the company we are looking to recruit a Steel Market Writer/Editor, based in our Sheffield office. This is a key role in the company. We are looking for you to enhance our writing and editing capabilities.Main Responsibilities:

  • Producing factual articles on the steel market for a global audience.
  • Researching and analysing the main factors affecting steel prices.
  • Writing, editing and proofreading steel market-related content, in line with our house style, and providing feedback to our other writers.
  • Mentoring colleagues to help develop their writing capabilities.
  • Selecting interesting and relevant topics to write abouteither for yourself or for another member of the team.
  • Contributing to the writing, editing and proofreading of external communication, website and marketing copy, and internal and external policies.
Skill set required:
  • Excellent written English skills, with formal training, and experience of producing informative articles, preferably related to the steel or commodities sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all published content is accurate.
  • The ability to interpret data and produce content for a business audience that is clear and concise.
  • Self-motivation to expand your knowledge of the steel market and develop our written content.
  • Good time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Open to constructive criticism and feedback.
  • Knowledge of the steel or commodities markets is desirable, but not essential.
  • The right to live and work in the UK.
There is the potential for this role to advance to a more senior position within the writing and editing team, for the right candidate.What we offer:
