CK Science are currently recruiting for a Technical Support and Laboratory Manager to join a company that manufactures raw materials for the personal care and FMCG industries, at their site based in Sheffield on a full time, permanent basis.The Company:The company has another site in Germany and is now looking for an experienced Laboratory Manager to join the team and take responsibility for 4 direct reports, including microbiology and biochemistry degree qualified technical support assistants and lab assistants, so previous experience of people management is an essential requirement. Working hours are somewhat flexible between 8.30 - 5pm Monday - Friday. The company offers 25 days holiday + bank holidays, which increase with service. Location:This role is located in Sheffield and is easily accessible via good road links. The Role:Reporting to the General Manager, your main duties will be to:- Ensure effective and efficient operation of Technical Support Departing including supervision of direct reports as defined by job description to ensure excellent customer service.- Develop standards for the Technical Support Department for continual improvement.- Ensure all Technical Support Department procedures are followed in accordance with ISO and company requirements.- Conduct appraisals in line with company standards for direct reports and identify any training needs.- Provide technical guidance to ensure successful onboarding of new products.- Provide regulatory/legislative advice to ensure compliance of UK product portfolio in conjunction with all suppliers.- Co-ordinate/complete all Technical enquiries including customer questionnaires.- Co-ordinate/complete all non-conformances relating to product complaints in line with company working procedures.- Ensure the audit programme for the company is managed and in line with ISO 13485/9001.Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:- Degree or equivalent in Science or Microbiology preferred.- Sound industrial laboratory management experience including direct line management.- Knowledge of regulatory affairs - particularly medical devices/ biocidal products.- Experience of conducting internal audits.- Willingness to travel nationally to meet with customers, and occasionally overseas.- A strong character - confident, authoritative, approachable, able to lead by example and drive the business forward.Apply:For more information or to apply for this Technical Support and Laboratory Manager position, please contact CK Group, quoting job ref 47256.It is essential that applicants hold entitlement to work in the UK.INDGEN
