Job Description

Morgan King are excited to be exclusively retained on behalf of a world-leading manufacturing business as they look to appoint a Technical Manager into their business. With over 300 heads and a £60M turnover on site, this business supply an array of metalbased products to a lucrative sector.With large scale site investment, this is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager with a metallurgical background who is interested in product/process improvement, driving improvements in right first time and product quality and an ability to provideexpert technical expertise across the wider business.Technical Manager Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the technical department to improve and optimise processes and performance within the business
  • Deliver technical reports to the business and customers as required
  • Monitor the operations ability of complex process plant and introduce improvements to reduce quality, process or procedural failure
  • Define and track key metrics and performance indicators
  • Integrate technical knowledge, subject matter expertise, data analysis and understanding of trends to make sound decisions and influence business decisions
  • Deliver optimum process performance across all manufactured products
  • Increase RFT and maintain at business levels
  • Develop new / improved products across all manufactured products
Morgan King are keen to speak to candidates with the following skillset:
  • Degree qualified (ideally MSc or PHD) in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry or a similar course
  • Strong manufacturing background in the metals sector
  • Process improvement or continuous improvement qualification
  • Extensive experience in leading and delivering technical objectives and improvements from inception to delivery
  • Strong experience in working on multiple projects
  • High proficiency in report writing and data analysis
  • Proven ability in product/process improvement backed up with tangible figures
