Job Description

The Technical Business Manager will be suitable for an Engineer that would like to broaden their experience into structural masonry rehabilitation, dealing with structures varying in age from 1 to 500 years old, and support the sales teamwithin Sheffield, selling market-leading Stainless Steel construction accessories into the new build market.

  • Support the external team of Technical Area Managers in remedial masonry surveys and on site testing
  • Be a senior member of the team providing Approved Installer Surveyor Training on a residential 2 day course, along with continued training / support of the contracting companies throughout their membership of the Approved Installer scheme
  • Undertake Masonry Beam and Panel designs
  • Prepare engineering judgment based project remedial schemes and assess the validity of schemes proposed by External Staff and Network of Approved Installers
  • Work with the Structural Engineer to maintain the Warranty Scheme and Insurance
  • Liaise with contracted external Consultants
  • Deliver professional CPD Presentations to Engineers Practices
  • Liaise with major Main Contractors / Specifiers on the specification of Masonry Accessories
  • Deliver technical and sales support / training for overseas opportunities
To be successful in this role of Technical Business Manager we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
  • Civil / Structural Engineer - must demonstrate extensive technical sales / commercial engineering / contractor engineering experience
  • Accredited degree in Civil / Structural Engineering (Possible Geotechnical / Piling degree)
  • Eagerness to learn the nuances of masonry defect diagnosis
  • Experience in masonry repairs / piling design a big advantage
  • Good presentation and communication skills will be required
  • Proficient in recording and reporting information, preparing specifications, designs
  • Current valid driving licence
  • Adaptability, Problem Solving, Verbal Communication, Operating Systems, Phone Skills, Customer Service, Quality Focus, PC Proficiency, Team Player
