Job Description

Role OverviewThis is a static role based within a prestigious and very busy site located in Sheffield City Centre, the successful candidate would ideally be located within reasonable commuting distance of the base location, but will also be required to travel within a designated region when carrying out on call rota commitments.Supporting the site Facilities Manager, the role requires the successful applicant to take full responsibility for all aspects of asset/ building maintenance and hard service delivery within the service contract at the base location and across a number of regional sites when on call.Reporting into the regional Engineering Management Team, the successful applicant will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, predominantly configured around, but not limited to, heating & air conditioning ventilation systems and associated assets, Electrical Systems and associated assets , Mechanical hot and cold water plumbing systems and associated assets, Water hygiene compliance and system continuity (Cooling Towers). This includes both the practical and administrative duties, document control of maintenance activities, ensuring all site maintenance records are kept up to date, accurate, recorded and accessible to the senior management team at all timesThe role will also require the successful candidate to ensure all maintenance contractors are verified, escorted and supervised when carrying out works on site.Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance servicing duties of the following systems and assets to current regulatory and legislative standards, ensuring excellent and robust document control and good maintenance record keeping, inclusive of dynamic risk assessments.
  • Electrical Systems and associated assets
  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems and associated assets
  • Onsite cooling towers and associated assets
  • Mechanical hot and cold water plumbing systems and associated assets
  • Undertake the periodic routine running and testing of the site standby power supply generator to include fuel monitoring and reporting for replenishment.
  • Where competent, Undertake statutory monthly PPM related tasks, outside of core skill set, as directed by the Service Desk.
  • Ensure all site maintenance activities are carried out to the required compliance level in accordance with Business health and safety policies
  • Comply with Interserve and customer policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Support the site facilities manager and engineering team colleagues with general site management (deliveries, storage, stock control)
  • Ensure compliance at all times working to company security policies in relation to the use of IT equipment, key management and secure access, including maintenance contractor access on site.
  • Part of On Call rota to provide out of hours support as and when required by management.
  • Keep all plant / rooms / services enclosures clean and work areas, tidy safe and secure at all times
  • Undertake any ad-hoc duties as required by the Business by the request of Management.
  • Be aware of Interserve Business Continuity Plan for area of business.
  • Skills and CompetenciesEssential
  • Relevant Refrigerant & HVAC qualifications and experience of maintaining substantial HVAC systems
  • Qualification/competence of working within water hygiene regulations, specifically cooling towers.
  • Qualification/competence of working within Mechanical hot and cold water plumbing systems and associated assets
  • Qualification/competence Electrical maintenance and installation
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a large site/location delivering Statutory, Planned and reactive maintenance duties
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • The Ability to work unsupervised, independently, and as part of a wider team
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent UK and EU amendments when carrying out all tasks
  • Excellent understanding of task based and dynamic risk assessments associated to the maintenance service delivery tasks.
  • Flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive)
  • Excellent time keeping and organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and execute their own workload
  • Due to contractual requirements, the ability to pass designated security clearances is a pre job offer requisite.
  • Valid Passport (For security clearance)

  • Previous AP experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience of using PDAs/Mobile devices and Computer Aided Facilities Management software to manage their workload
  • Understanding of Building Maintenance Schedules (SFG20)
