Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a leading EdTech business base in South Yorkshire as they look to recruit a Development Manager.Woking on a hybrid basis from their state-of-the-art Sheffield based offices my client are looking for a hands on Software Development Manager to support the rapid growth in features and capabilities in their new cloud-based SaaS platform.As the Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for development and deployment of the platform, including front-end and back-end components, along with creating and supporting the growth of a development team.Key Duties & Responsibilities- Development of the front-end web experience and back-end systems using Laravel PHP with AWS RDS MySQL - Ramp up inhouse capabilities for development both with direct contribution and building out a team- Transfer existing AWS based stack to inhouse deployment and operations - Evolve the architecture and features of the platform following the strategic roadmap and product priorities - Resolving bugs or issues with the existing platform and further improving quality over time- Integrating CI/CD toolsets and testing flow to assist with the development process - Assess and recommend components, technology, tools, infrastructure, people - Ensuring high quality and integrated automated testing for the product - Driving the skills growth and ramp up of new development team members - Work alongside our external development partners to accelerate new developments or non-core development We are keen to speak with progressive Software Development professionals who possess the following skills and experience:- Demonstrable experience of full-stack development with PHP and Laravel - A track record of building high-performance development teams - Strong technical skills and understanding of software development and delivery practices - Demonstrable experience with SaaS based products on cloud platforms, ideally including API integrations with external systems - Detailed knowledge and experience working with relational databases (e.g. MySQL) - Detailed knowledge and experience working with a front-end framework and libraries (e.g. Angular, React or ViewJS) and implementing UI/UX designs- Practical experience working with automated unit and integration testing tools and frameworks such as PHPUnit- Experience with agile methodologies - Experience of onboarding and training new developers - A great communicator and coach, who can work with a wider team- A passion for development and technology - Flexible and able to work in a highly collaborative fast-paced culture To find out more about this outstanding opportunity contact us today!
